I was amused when my daughter complained about the creepy-crawlies that were plaguing her when she went off to summer camp. The amusement turned to disgust – not with her! – when she returned home and brought bed bugs with her. This is a problem I never expected to deal with! If you’ve ever faced a bed bug infestation, you may understand how difficult they can be to eradicate fully. We certainly got an appreciation for that fact after we wasted our money replacing my daughter’s mattress with no effect. By that time, we had bed bugs throughout all of the bedrooms. As part of a total environment solution – one that was effective, by the way! – we used a PackTite closet to sanitize all of our clothes. This is basically a little climate-controlled tent that you seal up around your clothes. An internal heater raises the temperature past 120 degrees for a few hours, and presto! No more bed bugs!
